Jessica Kodsi
mezzo-soprano

Jessica Kodsi is a mezzo-soprano based in Chattanooga, Tennessee with over a decade of formal vocal training. She began her pursuit of Opera at the Interlochen Arts Academy in 2018, studying under baritone Jeffery Norris. She is currently working toward a BM in Vocal Performance at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she studies with Professor Kathryn Cowdrick.
In addition to her academic studies, Jessica has participated in two prestigious summer programs: the Italian-based intensive Si Parla, Si Canta in Arona, Italy and the American Institute for Musical Studies Lieder Studio in Graz, Austria. During her time in these programs, Jessica received daily language instruction, weekly coachings and lessons with renowned faculty, and performance opportunities in local concert halls. She has had the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty such as Metropolitan coach Hemdi Kfir, tenor Chris Merritt and soprano Patricia Ciofi.
In the fall of 2023, Jessica made her Eastman Opera Theatre debut as Pythia in Nkeiru Okoye’s 2015 chamber opera We’ve Got Our Eye on You. The following spring, she worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for Eastman’s production of Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites to understand other aspects of the production process and continued her work backstage for four more of Eastman Opera’s productions. Most recently, Jessica had the wonderful opportunity to premiere the role of Elizabeth Kertész in Steve Bramson’s opera CLICK! this past fall.
